Along with an accurate compass direction, determining your sitting and facing direction is critical to performing a precise Feng Shui consultation. We would estimate that 70% of people get this wrong.

This area causes so much confusion, we have been to so many consultations and told beforehand that a property faces a certain direction and when we get there the direction of the front door is totally different to the facing direction.

Chinese New Year (according to the lunar calendar) starts on the New Moon which is the 3rd February 2011 after the Winter Solstice and is celebrated by people all over the world. It signifies new beginnings and a fresh start.

At a social level, it is very much a family affair, a time of reunion, togetherness and thanksgiving. Chinese New Year falls on February 3rd 2011. Due to time differences around the world, Chinese New Year will fall what appears to be a day early in USA & Canada (British Columbia, Vancouver).

This is the date you celebrate the Chinese New Year with Ang Pow, fireworks etc and not the date you use to place your cures and enhancers 2011 in Feng Shui (February 4th 2011).

I visited an old client of mine a while ago after they had just bought an old barn in the outskirts of a quiet village to convert into a business and home. I was amazed when I first saw the barn,

I arrived and it was beautiful, the views were stunning and the barn which is around 3000 square feet with two acres of land has so much potential along with hundreds of ceiling and wall beams, overall this barn was perfect in my eyes and from a Feng Shui point of view also pretty good! This was a big project for the both of us but I am always enthusiastic about this type of work.

Most people will are usually limited to space in their garden without having their wheelie bin right outside their kitchen or living room window of course. This is what most people’s gardens will probably look like in central London and built up cities as it is not possible to get the bin through the house. Michael took this photo a few months ago while on a consultation in Glastonbury and I thought it would be appropriate for my post.

For those of you outside of the United Kingdom that are not aware of what a wheelie bin is, I have quoted part of an explanation of a wheelie bin from www.wikipedia.org.
